tanning bed after surgery

has a dr. told any of you, if you can lay in the tanning bed after surgery and if so, how long after your surgery, I am 5 weeks out. and am healing nicely. just wanted your input on this!!! I am not planning on laying anytime soon.

Well i use to go a yr ago all the time,I  started right after surgery. But the meds i am on currently keeps me from sun bathing and the bed to. But i was fine.                                                                                     Vickie R.

Hi Lisa, I was going to the tanning bed prior to surgery and started back within the first couple weeks after surgery.  Your incision scars may burn so be careful there.  It feels great to lay in that heat though.  I didn't actually ASK the doctor because most doctors will tell you honestly to stay away from tanning beds.  I love the way it feels and the tan -- I never was much of one to tan so this is nice.  TAKE CARE!

Hi Lisa, I had gastric bypass surgery and was at the tanning bed 2 days after.  I really think it helped my incisions heal and it was kick ass to see how much smaller I was getting in relation to how I laid in the bed.  I doubt the dr would recommend it but oh well...it always makes me feel so sexy and healthy after having done it
