anyone from Dr. S's office

I am incredibly upset, a little depressed and now getting mad...........  I was convinced by some that the Tristate Surgical Weight Loss Center was the only center to consider.  Since then I have tried everything to connect over there and get nowhere!  I can't get one person to return a phone call or talk to me..............  I hear how great Dr. S is but his office is another story!   Can some one tell me what I need to do to get a question answered?  It's obserd! I think I may have made a mistake when making this choice,   I see his patients here so happy and loving him ..............but if  you can't get a phone call returned what happens if you really need help?

Hey Tasha, I think it's hard to understand about the process when we are so anxious to have this done.  Dr. Sonnanstine's office is busy but they work very hard to answer every question and hoping to make their patients feel like part of a family...  I am going to give you Taryn's email address so you can email her direct,....  Some times we feel like we are getting nowhere but often times we don't see what's going on in the background.  Perhaps they are working with your insurance company and they just simply don't have the answer yet..but will call as soon as they do.  Perhaps they are waiting for a particular test result to come back..etc.  I am sorry I can't help when it comes to the office but I can guide you the proper person to ask.. I know that Dr. Sonnanstine and Taryn,  (clinical coordinator) wants you to be comfortable with their office and procedures..email her ([email protected]).. I am always here to talk to you when you feel frustrated or anxious about all of this.  Email me or message me..I will be home all day tomorrow cooking and getting ready for our family get together this Sunday.. i have been having the same problems with not having my phone calls returned, but i do know that you cant find a better surgeon than dr. tom he is fantastic. on your next visit you might mention it to dr. tom and im sure he will take care of the situation.

Hello You did make the right choice with Dr.Tom. I wont make excuses for his office staff,but i was there for an appt and they were swamped they were answering the phones seeing patients. But follow Brendas advice and get ahold of Taryn she can help you. But dont second geuss yourself he is the best and Taryn is very good also. I think he is like any other doctor his office is just getting extremley busy.

Well hello I am glad you chimmed in...you know first hand how we (the office, patients, Dr. Tom and Taryn and even myself) work as a team to help you through the stress of it all.  I will always be there for anyone who is having a hard time making it through the process. how are you doing?

Thank you Brenda for being there.  Since we talked and this post........I made an appt. to see Dr. S. one on one.   I feel very silly that I spouted off.............I just felt like I needed to scream......thank you all for your support.

They are all so right, I often felt like I was going to go crazy before I got anywhere.  The office staff some times felt unfriendly but they do work hard.  Only complaint I had was the privacy thing.  Last summer one of the girls made sure everyone in the waiting room new my business.  Once you get past the front, you can't ask for better professionals.  Dr.  Tom so understands, he seems to know what we are feeling. Hang in there, we are hear for you.

Dear Tasha, I am 3 weeks post op and can understand your frustrations.  I feel that Dr. S and his staff are more caring and understanding that any set of staff I have  ever dealt with doctor wise. I know the day that I came in for my follow up with Taryn that they had recieved 67 telephone messages form the weekend and there were four people working feverishly to return phone calls. I also know that on my 2 week follow up they 42 messages between the close of business on Monday until the opening of business on Tuesday. They try to weed out the absolute dire emergencies and answer them first, then go on to simpler questions. He has a staff of only about fifteen and they really work tirelessly doing the work of about thirty people to help everyone. In fact I had an urgent phone call and within five minutes Taryn had called me back and ten minutes after that Dr. S called. I can honestly say I have never recieved such prompt attention by a doctor. Last year I had the beginings of pneumonia with a fever of 103  it took my family doctor 3 days and one trip to the emergency room to call me back I have nothing but praise for Dr. S and his office staff.

HI All, I had Lap Band on Feb. 6th, and have had good interactions with Dr. Tom.  They do seem very busy in the office, and were training new staff last time I was in.  I think it's important to stress what is urgent or an emergency, and what isn't.   I've been happy with my choice.  I am waiting to be contacted by someone about Post Op support groups tho.  I'm really looking for someone who is interested in working out.  I joined Urban Active.  I usually work M-F days.   Please let me know, and good luck, Tasha!  I'm sure things will be better going forward!
