Yeah!! We finally got the phone call from Norton's
**I tried to post this earlier today but it seems to have gotten lost in cyberspace so i'll try again. If it's a repost I apologize and will delete the old one if (when) it ever shows up!
While I was at the YMCA today and away from my cell phone my husband Richard called and left me a message that the Bariatric Group at Norton's had called him and set up his appointment to come in for his Psych and NUT evaluation! Yippee!! He was starting to get a bit bummed out over his weight continuing to creep up while mine has been going down. He's has never been negative to me in anyway and has always been my biggest cheerleader but it truly has to be frustrating when your partner has something that you want as well! When I first started this process for myself we knew then that we both wanted it and he selflessly let me go first. He said he was going to let me be the guinea pig and cut a path for him but I knew he realized that I'd be less patient and green eyed than he has been. Have I ever mentioned that he's a keeper? Anyway, by my calander he could possibly banded in aboout 4 to 6 weeks. He goes for the consult on Monday (3/3/08) and if they are as quick with his packet as they were with mine Dr. Larson should have it by the following Monday. Dr. Larson is expecting his file already (he's mine and my mom's surgeon too so he has the "heads up"). The only test that he might want they we don't already have is a stress and echo. There are very few advantages to paying out of pocket but the big one is that you have to jump through less hoops thus things get done quicker. Granted, we will be eating a lot more beans for the next few years to pay for our surgeries but we are trying to ensure that we are there for our daughter in the years to come so it already is priceless. Considering we were both 37 when we had her we will be in our late 50's when she graduates high school and in our late 60's when she graduate's medical school! Funny thing is he was pretty much without words when I called him back and got to talk to him about it!! For those of you who have seen us at the Norton's Support Groups you know this man can talk and usually doesn't know when to zip it! I'm sure he'll recover by Thursday though!
Becka I am so happy for Richard and you. You will both be bandsters together awwwwwwwwww. I will see you all Thursday. I need you to direct me to the meeting so I know how to get there.
Went to see Dr Rod today and he would not give me a fill that I was in the yellow and good to go with decent restriction gosh I hope he is right
