Has anyone had thier suregery done here? I am going to the semiar, and I was just wanting a little bit of insight!!

hi there, I am getting ready to have my surgery Tuesday, if everything goes ok that is, I had a stress test today, and go Monday for results.   I really like the girls that works there. Dr.Wheeler is my Dr. and he is just wonderful and nice. He is blunt and a matter of fact kind of Dr.    be sure that you go toall of your nutrition.appts. and make sure you see you family dr. once a month. not sure what kind of insurance you have but some of them requires you to see them for 6 months. you will have to have a pap smear, mammogram, gallbladder ultrasound.  endoscopy, physical therapy evaluation, see a psychiarist, and maybe some more things, thats the ones I can remember off the top of my head. oh and a Heart Dr. also.     I have been going for a year now trying to get this done, yesterday I had to have a cava filter put in, thats because I have a family history of blood clots. if I can help or answer any questions, just ask, or e-mail me. Hi everyone, I know its been forever and a day since I posted but so much stuff going on life just catches up with you sometimes. I had my surgery at KDMC in April 2006 by Dr. Wheeler and its the best decision I have ever made.  I kick myself for not doing it sooner, but to be honest I was not mentally ready to have it done sooner than when it happenned.  My body seems to have settled nicely in at 180ish, which is still above normal goal...but I have maintained it now for several months with no problems at all.  I am so much happier. As for KDMC, the staff is great so is the hospital.  I have no complaints about anyone at all

I had a lap band in April and highly recommend Dr. Wheeler and the staff at KDMC to anyone and everyone.
