5 year olds!!! GRRRRRR!!!

OK, So I smuggly thought I was going to get lucky and make it through the toddler and pre-school stages without the one right of passage that makes most mommies shudder.......self haircuts!! My rotten 5 year old princess has the most beautiful strawberry blond hair that's about 1/2 down her back now.  Or it used to be!!!  As I was walking around the house picking things up I noticed her craft scissors on the bathroom vanity.  I didn't think anything at first but as I leaned over to shut the lid of the trash can I noticed hair on top of the trash.  I thought, oh great she's cut one of her barbie's hair off.  I reached in and picked it up thinking I needed to go fuss at her about it but then I realized that it was WAY TOO SILKY to be Barbie hair!  After I freaked out and sent her to bed I immediatley called our hairdresser and she's going to work her in at 5pm.  I then called her daddy who just laughed!!!  GGRRRR!!  MEN! She told me she wanted to cut her hair like Dora's.  Well, now it will be just that short!!   I'm too worked up to even think right now!!

Oh I am sorry...but it brought back a memory for me...My daughter Maggie had hair down to her butt, and when she walked away from me one day , her hair just started falling, with every step..yes she had cut it all up to her shoulders....ugggghhh. Even though she wanted to look like Dora, she will be just as beautiful with short hair as she did with her long hair...shes a cutie...and your husband just laughing at what happened"?? I cant imagine that,,,,yeah right .LOL. Missy

Well, once I calmed down and actually looked at it what she managed to chop it was basically a section off her right side to about her jawline (it was about to her shoulderblades).  Looked to be about as much as would be one whole snip.  Lisa the lady who does mine and her hair was able to cut it into an adorable cut without resorting to bangs which I don't care for myself.  It's stacked in the back and long in the front (kinda like Posh Spice!)  She now looks like a little lady and not a pre-schooler. I was wrapped tight all day after the self cut and kept telling Lisa that I needed a rum and coke!  I would still make one now but after spending the last hour in the gym i'm light headed enough as it is! Rich, Gracie and I will see both of you on Tuesday!
