hi, I am getting ready to have this surgery in a couple of weeks, I am just curious of what kind of vitamins everyone is using, do they work? and did your nut. tell you what kind to get?     I ordered some vitamins and find them kinda expensive, looking for maybe something cheaper.

My surgeon said their all the same.  I just order some cheap ones off of Puritain Pride's website. Or buy the store brand at Kroger or Biggs.

I just asked my surgeon this yesterday. He said right after surgery take either 4 flinestones or 2 adult chewables a day and then after a while you can switch to regular vitamins and take 2 a day.

the vitamins the weight loss clinic told me to get is called optisource, and they are almost 29.00 a month and have to order them from like walgreens, with all the protein and stuff and I am on afixed income I just don't know how I am gonna be able to afford the ones they told me to get. that is why I am asking for different dr.s opinions. and go with the cheapest ,lol.

My Dr. also told me 4 children's chewables a day and I liked the Target brand of them, I tried the Walmart chewables didn't like too much. But after I could start eating more regular foods I still stuck with the childrens because they are cheaper than adults.Good Luck.............................Stacey

The only thing that bothers me about Optisource vitamins (other than the price) is the fact they have both calcium and iron in them... We all know those two compete for absorption... So I didn't even fool with them.. I personally take a prenatal vitamin 2 x a day, 2 calcium pills twice a day, and in between those I take an Iron pill, and a vitamin C chewable... I hope this helps you Katrina

this is what i take every day...... 2 one a day (generic) and a calcium in am and then at lunch i take an iron tab and 1000mg vit c and then at bed time i take 2 one a day (generic) and a calcium... then once a week i take a vit b12 sublingual... this is what my dr ordered.. i have the choice to buy from the office but i would rather do it this way... it was just as expensive to get started but way cheaper afterwards. Not everything runs out at once and i can pick up a bottle of what i am getting low on and keep my stock going for a few dollars!

I bought the Chewable Sams Club brand of Flintsones and I seen the doc today and he told me that was fine!
