Hello everyone!
I am new to the OH site. I live in Louisville and just attended my 1st seminar for the Lap Band, though it ended up I knew about what was discussed by researching online. I intend to go to Dr Tanner, but I would like to hear about other experiences.
I have lurked on here for a while so I figured it was time for me to start posting!
Mary
Hi Mary,
I'm fairly new here myself. Seems everyone on the KY board are as freindly as can be and always willing to step in to offer support and help when needed.
My sis used Dr. Tanner for her RNY and really likes him. I haven't met him personally though. I think he's the newest edition to the Norton's Bariatric team.
Good luck!

Welcome...welcome! this is an awesome site and a great support system. I had my lap band done by Dr Allen....wouldn't trade him for the world!
Thanks for the warm welcome, folks. I am glad there is a Kentucky section - it's nice to keep it "local".
Dr Shina spoke at the seminar I attended, I wasnt sure what to think about him.
Is anyone out there from Etown? If so do you go into Louisville for follow ups? I am moving there in the next few months.
*EDITED* because I can't type
Howdy!!! I live about 45 miles from louisville and 20 minutes from etown, Im in the middle i guess..
I do go to louisville for my follow ups!!! I also go to the support group meetings in lousville!!!
Dr. Shina is a fantastic surgeon, his office staff is good, You just cant expect him to hold your hand or baby you. He is very honest and upfront. thats why i chose him. He's very smart and his wife holly runs his office, and she is great too!!!!!
Good luck with your decision!
