Looking for a new PCP

Thank you Vicki and Steph for the referral to Dr. Hefner!!   I have decided to switch myself to his practice and was able to get an appointment for next week!  I'll give him a try and see how I like him and then hopefully move my husband to him fairly soon too.  I think my hubby's kinda stuck with our current PCP until after his surgery since we've already submitted his packet to the bariatric group.  I wouldn't want to cause a delay for him with his surgery! My deciding factor for trying Dr. Hefner was when I called the other PCP I had scheduled and I sat on hold for 10 minutes simply to double-check the appointment time for this week.  I had to wait that long when I initially made the initial appointment last week as well.  I'm not willing to spend that long on hold before I get to talk to a human being EACH time I have to call.  The staff at Dr. Hefner's office actually answered the call without it going to a recording!!  I understand that a doctor's office can be a busy place but my time is worth something as well.  This is a lesson I've learned from my hubby and his business.  He is the owner and answers the phone himself whenever possible!  Most of his business is from customer referrals due to the personal attention his clients receives (and the fact that he's just darn good at what he does)!
