GOT APPROVED FOR SURGERY TODAY!!

GOT APPROVED FOR SURGERY TODAY, GO TO PRE-OP CLASS NEXT WEEK IN ASHLAND, CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT TO EXPECT NEXT? HOW LONG TO SURGERY? I HAVE GAINED ABOUT 4 POUNDS SINCE LAST TIME I WENT TO DR. WILL THIS AFFECT ME IN ANY WAY?WHAT IS EXPECTED OF ME BETWEEN PRE-OP AND SURGERY? PELASE HELP ME, I AM EXCITED BUT KINDA ANXIOUS AND SCARED! LISA

Yes I was super excited but now the fear is starting to set in and reality that it is going to actually happen.  I have had all my classes now i think i just have my physical and some pre op testing once they schedule me.

I HAD LAPBAND AND THE SURGERY WAS A SHORT PERIOD OF  TIME, ABOUT AN HOUR.  IT TOOK LONGER WAITING FOR MY TURN AS THERE WAS SIX OF US HAVING THE SURGERY AND I WAS NUMBER FOUR.  THE SMALL WEIGHT GAIN SHOULD NOT SET YOU BACK BUT BY NEXT WEEK YOU CAN LOSE IT.  THE WEEK PRIOR TO SURGERY I WAS ON A HIGH PROTEIN DIET TO REDUCE THE SIZE OF MY LIVER.  THEY SAY IT HELPS.  BE EXCITED, BE ANXIOUS BUT DON'T BE SCARED.  BEST WISHES.   ZO, PROVIDENCE, KY

Congrats Seems to me the class took a couple of hours, maybe a little longer. It is mandatory. Most of what you will go over you already know. There will be some new stuff. After the class they will tell you to call Dr. Wheelers office to get a date. Some of the people at my class were pulling out their cell phones and calling form the class room. I walked over to the office and got my date. I think my date was about four weeks from the class. It all depends on how busy the doc is.  pan head

Congrats! I am so happy for you. Speak with your surgeon and he will tell you how you are expected to handle your weight before surgery. I was suppose to start a low carb high protein diet. I did not have to drop weight but I was not allowed to gain. You will be just fine!!!!! We are here for you so ask away.
