OT-GAAAAAAAAAAA! (Banging head against wall)

Begin angryblog Sorry y'all, but I need to vent.  At midnight Dec. 23/24 my family and I were hit head on by a drunk driver.  We are all ok physically, still a little sore, but mentally I'm ready to blow a fuse.  My insurance company has been good, I'm currently seeking legal representation, but I'm frustrated.  My car is being inspected in Louisville , my rental is almost at the halfway point, and I have yet to hear anything from the other drivers insurance.  I just found out that my car has to be moved to another location to check the engine and structural integrity of the front end (Its $3000 from being totaled).  I'm starting to feel that I'm going to have to pay for someone else’s idiotic decision.    End angryblog In better news: My wife went to her first Lap-Band nutrition class at St. Luke today, mine is on the 16th.  She thinks I'm going to starve or be unhappy.  I guess the first thing we hear is all of the stuff that we cannot eat.  I think I will be ok.  I'm just ready to begin my journey in bandland. OK, sorry about all of they negativity, I'll try to find my happy place again.

Hey BigP,  At least you and your family are here still. Cars can be replaced you and your family can't. A few folks might remember I lost a niece at this time last year due to an illegal alien with no license. Talk about being upset for paying a price for someone else's mistake.  @#$%^ off my soapbox. Not trying to be critical BigP just saying it might have been worse.  So you and your wife are going to get the band?? If she is taking the class just to understand what you are going through that is great.  Don't worry about the cannot haves, it is a nonissue. I am a year out come Feb 12th, I am down right at 150lbs from my heaviest weight. You just don't even worry about a lot of foods after a short time of not having them. You have chosen a great doctor.  Not because he is cute, but because he listens and geniunely cares for all his patients and their family.

Ry, You are right, I am extremely thankful we are all here.  I am very sorry to hear about your niece.  And don't worry about the soapbox, people need to use it sometimes to help others get back to reality.   Both of us are going to be banders.  If all goes well (Crossing fingers) she will have her's end of February and I will be mid March.  We staggered to help take care of each other, plus, there is a slight possibility that I will be doing a weekend flight to Florida (If I have the $$$) for my grandfather's 90th birthday party.  But the surgery is first. I like Dr. Tom and the staff from the moment I met them during the consultation.

I am soooo sorry to hear about the accident, thank God everyone is ok.. Please rest assured that you WILL be able to eat...it's just a little overwhelming at first.  Trust Dr. Sonnanstine and his staff they are awesome!!   things just start out slowly, I am 4 yrs out and trained by Dr. Sonnanstine as a patient advocate...I have been through it all as far as bypass surgery..new to lapband but my hubby is having that and has finished his classes.....I am looking forward to his journey..please feel free to send me messages with questions or concerns..if you would like alittle extra support let me know, I would be so happy to meet with you at any of the educational class night..or even at the office one day.  I often attend meetings as well as office visits with patients if they feel the need...I will also be at the hospital next Monday with one of his patient sand family on surgery day.--if you would like to meet up on that day let me know..  all will be good, this is a difficult decision but the best one I ever made..I am healthier and happier today than I have been in years!!! I will see you at the docs video night, maybe we can sit and talk a bit after... Brenda

Thanks Brenda.  If anything, I am nervous.  I've not really had any surguries, so I don't know what to expect.  My wife is trying to explain it (She's has a few adominal surguries), but by the time she is done, I'm in the fetal position .  I know it will be work, and I will be better for it.   I start the program next Wednsday (16th), I don't know when we are supposed to go to the nightly classes.

 When is video night?
