hello from sunny Florida!!

Hi everyone!! I am here at my sons house in Pembroke Pines (near ft. lauderdale) enjoying my new baby grandaughter (Ava Gabriele)..she is now 12 days old and of course the most beautiful thing I have ever seen!!!..

I have been having some fun too, went to South Beach yesterday with some of my sons Coast Guard buds...they were so much fun...he lives in a gated community but it seems there are a lot of military officers here.  Navy and Coast Guard mainly..which is nice because so many of them go in and out of the country and the wives seen to have this club thing going..watching out for one another. Yesterday morning 3 guys my son went to the academy with stopped by to say hello..they were only here for a long weekend ..then we all went on to south beach as well as visited the station that my son is assigned to.  Today we are going to the actual air field where they fly out of...this is my first time at this station..he was in Corpus Christi before and I loved it there.  We would spend weekends in San Antonio. Well I really don't know what's on the agenda for today..my son plays on a soccer team so I promised I would come to a game later today..this morning I am going to do some cooking and help around the house..she has so many gifts and presents we have to figure out where everything goes. I hear my baby crying so I think I would go spoil her a bit... Have a great day!! Oh and if any of you tatoo lovers are reading this..I had to visit Miami Ink yesterday...I was almost talked into a tatoo...but where I want it I wasn't about to share with my sons buds as they stood there watching...lol!!!! take care Brenda

WoW Brenda,  I was just thinking about you yesterday and wondering how you're doing. Congratulations on being a new grandma! You're baby's name is a lovely name and I'm very happy for you. I'm glad you're having a good visit and visiting Miami Ink sounds like a lot of fun. I'm sure they could easily talk me into a tattoo too.  It's good to *see* you and I hope you have a continued nice visit.  Take care-- Dee

thanks everyone...it's great here and the baby is so good..she is just laying here with her eyes open looking around.. 

My daughter is having a boy in Feb..so I get one of each and I can't wait...but I also found out my son is  testing for an airlines and if he gets it he will be moving to Calif...I was soooooo upset, but on the other hand ole mom here will fly for free..lol

Everytime I visit my friend in Miami, I want to go to Miami Ink if for no other reason but to just say I went...Congrats on the new baby, Mine will be here before I know it...Got moved into my new house, and love it...Even got me a new baby...a golded retriever puppy..."Ruby"....she is a sweetheart, and growing like a weed. GLad you are having fun...been wondering about you. Amy

it was cool but for some reason I expected it to be bigger, ya know?...I was suprised it was such a little store in the middle of the block..guess since it's on TV I expected it to be huge...dunno why

Today was better than south beach..we went to Miami and spent the day on the waterfront, my birthday is Tuesday so we went to a steak house then spent time shopping ...I got some great bargains, listened to salsa music and watched the dancing..then later went to another soccer game. What was very strange to me was so watch my son playing after all these years..weirdest thing I saw was a couple of the guys light up..I wanted to go scold them like I would have years ago..lol

one of the guys gave my son such a hard time about his mom being at the game, he yells out..

anyone brave enough to bring mom to a soccer game should at least bring the orange wedges...lol

we need to get together for dinner one night Amy...I have pics to share and if I can figure out how to do my own profile I will add some on here as well. take care Brenda

but I have to tell you I have this huge grin on my face after looking at the surgery day pics with you and Dan....do you remember ??  toooo funny!!!

How could I forget my life saver (so to speak).....Dr Tom is my true life saver....but Dr. Dan was my fav that day...It is hard to believe that it has been a year already...Best thing I ever did in my life...Still hard to believe that I now wear size 2/4...instead of 22/24....I feel fantastic.....but really hate the skin, especially on my arms and the ever absent girls....Weight is a bit too low...that I am concerned about....Did saw Beth after my 1 yr. to talk about ways to gain weight in a healthy way....Still scares me though...I am up to 118 today....try not to weigh myself too much cause it just causes me to stress too much....Which is why I think I am down too low in the first place...a lot of stress the last few months... Give me a call when you get back in town...need to catch up on all the news...and still never got the opportunity to come over to horseback ride this summer....maybe we can do that before it gets too cold again...although not sure if my butt can stand it....have a hard time sitting cause of my boney butt...lol... anyway...enjoy your vacation...and will talk to you when you get back... yea Dan is awesome he was there for me with gallbladder and my plastic fix up last winter when Dr. Tom took over my care with the plastics complications...but you are right Dr. Tom is the best don't know what i would do without him and don't want to think of even trying.. We can still do the horseback thing it's not to cold the horses love cooler weather.  I will get with you when I return and get my house back in order..when I left I had painters in the house.  I had hoped Mike would get things back where they belong by the time I came home but instead he gave me a surprise visit on Sat. night..the kids fixed him up with a flight so he could enjoy my bday surprise and I have to admit I had more fun yesterday with him here.  He is in the shower now getting ready to leave for home..Michael has a flight at 10 so he is dropping his dad off at the airport on his way to his own airfield. Well I hear my little darlin upstairs crying..as soon as momma feeds her I am going to bring her downstairs so she can get a bit more rest.  I should be home by the end of the week unless I find areason to stay longer.  I can handle this 80 degrees weather..lol see ya  Brenda
