Hi everyone,  I submitted my packet to Norton Bariatrics on October 1st. around the 5th I got a letter stating I needed to send a copy of my insurance card.  I sent the card the next day so they would have recived it on or arounf the 7th. now it is the 25th and still no word.  Does it take a long time for them to call everyone back??

Im not for certain but I think it might take awhile. At the support group meeting on tuesday, Rita said they get literally thousands of application and packets daily. They are even hiring more staff to help even the workloads.. So just hang in there... Hopefully you don't have to do the six month diet,

  Good luck!!! Dawn

I never did get anyone to call me back after they got my $300.  I guess I'll have to make use of those support groups to get my money's worth.
I owed it to myself to research the duodenal switch before consenting to any other weight loss surgery and so do you.  Check out DSFacts.com and DuodenalSwitch.com for more information.  Remember think twice, cut once, revisions are risky and revision surgeons are rare.

Hello,

Just to give you an idea of time.  I submitted my packet to Norton Bariatric Group in the last week of May 2007.  I followed up with them the next week to ensure that they had received it and they had.  They finally called me in for my first evaluations sometime in Mid-July with the actuall appointment being something like third week of August.  Once I saw them and got their stamp of approval (same day) they said that the MDs office should be calling me within a week or so which they did.  I saw him at the end of September (he was on vacation and then I was for 2 weeks as well).  Even though I clearly expected to be a self-pay, we decided to get a denial from my insurance just incase they were feeling nice about it (no such luck!).  While we were waiting on the denial I set up my PCP and Cardiac consults for surgery clearance.  They scheduled me for surgury on 11/2/07 which was one week ago today!!   Although it feels like it took FOREVER it really didn't.  My Sister went through the same group and due to her insurnace coverage it took her just about 2 years from the beginning of her journey to the date of her actual surgery.  The bright side for her though was that her insurance covered it, I on the other hand had to extend my home equity by $16,000.  I'm not complaining though as I consider myself and my health to be worth that much and more!
