Has anyone had a "scope" done?

I am going tommorrow for my "scope". Evidently, this is a procedure that checks out my stomach/throat area for surgery. Next month, I start the liver shrinkage diet and then we submit to the insurance company. Has anyone else had this procedure done?

Leann03 I personal didnt have the scope done but my girlfriend had it done actually she was losing blood and they was trying to find where it was going. She said they put her out to have it done this time.  She also had galdbladder surgery done several years ago and they didnt knock her out to do the scope and she said she wouldnt have it done again after that time. So this time around when they are looking for the blood. She made sure they knock her out for it and if not then she wasnt going to have it done.  But she said its nothing to it now if it had to be done again she said she would do it again especially they knock her out and they did the scope on both ends of her. She said its nothing now so relax and go with the flow. Its going to be ok.

I have had "scopes" done before and since my surgery...and have ALWAYS been put out...Don't remember a thing about it...except my throat was a little sore afterwards...Wasn't bad at all. Amy

Hello,    I feel like the queen of scopes, I had one done at one month and another one at 2 mnths (2 strictures) It was nothing at all, I was worried for nothing, I was completely out and dont remember a thing. It was so easy,,,,so you will be fine and best of luck to you. Missy

I was put out for my scope, as was my hubby, and I have to say it was the easiest part of the hoops to jump through for the surgery.  My throat was a little sore, Like Amy's, but the soreness only last a few days.  Good luck-- Dee
