Around Monday I started having pain in my tummy that felt like someone stabbing me with a hot knife while twisting it. I felt like I wanted to throw up. I went to my pcp and he believed I had an ulcer an started me on carafate. By Friday I was rolled up like a baby and crying every time the pain happened because it was so bad. I went to my wls center and was admitted to the hospital. I had a cat scan and all looked fine. My pain was so bad. My surgeon said he was going to scope me to see if I had an ulcer that did not show on the scan. He found some loose staples that were in my pouch. He was able to remove them during the scope. I guess they had been sticking me and had irritated my pouch pretty badly. I now am on carafate, nexium, and loritab. My tummy still hurts but the really bad sharp pains are gone. I am so thankful for a surgeon that went the extra step. I was told that if the staples were left undetected I would have ended up septic. I was very dehydrated and lacked magnesiem and potasiom. Excuse my spelling. Due to the wanting to throw up I had not gotten in enough liquids. Any one else have this to happen?? I am sooo thankful for early detection. My pain was right under my breast bone and it was not constant. It came and went with each time hurting more. Please get any pain checked out. Thanks, Gerri

Gerri,

So glad that you had a doctor that would go the extra step to scope you and find out exactly what was wrong, and then to take them out during the scope, instead of scheduling another procedure for another day.  Now just take it easy and get your fluids in, and get stronger and better! Take care, and good healing thoughts headed  your way.

At Goal! 165 pounds gone forever! Thank you Lord!
