Question for those who went through Norton's bariatric center in Louisville

I live in West Baden....it is the town just 10 minutes away from Paoli Peaks, and French Lick is just next door.  I am only 45 minutes away from Louisville, straight down US 150.  It isn't a hard drive, because I practically can drive it with my eyes shut. (I have been to Louisville so much since moving here last year, there really isn't anything here in West Baden.)  The closest dr. to me that preforms the surgery is in Jasper, which is only 25 minutes away, BUT........my insurance doesn't cover the dr. OR the hospital, and I would have had to pay $4500 UP FRONT!  I don't think so!  My insurance covers Dr. Shina AND Norton's Hospital, and all I have to pay is the $300........I think this is self explanitory! LOL

I totally agree about the construction going on during rush hours! At least at Louisville they chose to close down the interstate at night and work all night long. Not many other big cities do that.  That is why I am having to leave 2 1/2 hours early to drive 45 minutes to SIT IN TRAFFIC on the 9th for my nut class and psyche eval!

At Goal! 165 pounds gone forever! Thank you Lord!

Ok now I gotcha I believe I've been to Paoli Peaks.... I use to delivery balloons for that company on State Street it use to be Balloons in Bloom but I think they changed it to Helium Express now. Isn't 150 state street? If so I'd sure hate to have to drive down that hill in th winter time. And oooooh, being stuck on that bridge in the middle of traffic, OMG it scares the poop out of me! I use to live at those appartments on the right as you are going up the hill, the view from the back of the main office is awesome, especially in the fall when the leaves are changing you can see downtown Louisville. Also, if you haven't done so yet you should check out Brown County near Memphis, Indiana it's a wonderful little town kinda reminds me of a little gatlinburg or something like that. That's where my hubby proposed to me in the park at the overlook, we really love it up there.  You say you just moved there about a year ago? Where did you live before? I'm sorry if I am being nosey...lol As far as the other doctor, I don't blame you a bit why pay for it if you can get it covered someplace else? Do you have to go to Suburban or does Dr. Shina go to Norton's too? Well I'm an outty so I'll talk to ya later! Kellie

Thank God For RNY! Counting down the pounds to a new me:)

I moved out here from Southern Illinois. My husband and I used to live in Metropolis, Illinois, and worked at Harrah's casino there. When French Lick Casino opened, we moved up here to work, and we love it here! It is so pretty! Especially in the fall.  We live on the top of the second highest peak in Indiana, so we have an awesome view!

Dr. Shina goes to Nortons Suburban, so I can go there without any trouble. As long as my insurance covers it, I will drive the hour and a half to get across town. Whatever it takes!

Hi!  I had my Lap RNY last October have lost close to 100 lbs and live an hours drive away from Dr. Shina and the support group, but they are worth every mile that I drive!  He is the BEST!!  He also removed my gall bladder last month and am doing well so far (only off work one week).
