Psyche and Nutrition classes
I have been wondering what the psych eval consists of........what kind of questions do they ask? how do they determine if you "pass" or "fail" this evaluation? What do you learn in your psyche eval?? I know that they supposedly ask you tons of questions, but I want to know the general questions. Just curious.
Also, what about the nutrition classes? I know you are supposed to learn how to eat again, and how to prepare the foods, but what else do they teach you? I still have all of my nutrition books from culinary school, I wonder if those will help any?
Any ideas or suggestions? I would love to hear experiences from each of your evals......no matter how long ago they were! I want to know it all! LOL

My psych eval took maybe 45 minutes or so. Basically he wanted to know about what support systems I had at home and how they are supportive. Why was I chosing surgery and how I was going to handle eating after surgery.
The dietician just gave me the diet to follow after surgery. A sample of a protein shake to try and gave some ideas to start trying before the surgery.
It really wasn't that bad. I think I was more freaked out going into it then it really was.
Good Luck! I am about 4 weeks post-op with Dr. Shina, so if you have any other questions just let me know.
Thanks for the tips and hints. I now have my date scheduled for my classes. Oct. 9th! In only 2 weeks!! Talk about excited!
Now, to only be able to control myself while waiting for these 2 weeks to get over with! LOL
