KY girl having trouble

I wanted to check on Cynthia Smith from Bronston, Ky.  She had her surgery on 8/20/07 and this is the message she sent me back (hope you dont mind me sharing Cynthia) ....

Thank you for asking. I just got home late last night from the hospital. It was horrible and I can only hope it gets better. I went from a laproscopic to an open. I ended up being cut from underneath my breast all the way dow to the bottom of my stomach. I have 47 metal clamps. And thats just in the middle incision. I have 4 other incions as well. I have a come home with all that plus a tube in my stomach. I was indebated the first night with a tube in my throat and I had to be sedated all night and the next morning they took me off the ventilor and I got pneumonia and have to be Iccu. So finally they got things under control and put me on the surgery floor. To say I was scared is just an understatement. I am still scared and am having to see my pulmonary doctor about my lungs. I am so depressed and still weak and scared. I can only hope it gets better. Everybody had such a good surgery. But not me I almost died and now Im just so scared. i hope that it gets better. Sorry about the negative but its just been horrible. Im just so weak and tired and Im still not sure what to eat or anything. 
They have been so concerened with getting me better that I dont really have any answers on what I should eat my first few weeks out.

Don't know how to link either sorry:( I am so sorry she has had such a hard time. I thank God she has been released to go home. Please tell her to sip water to stay hydrated and I would guess she is on clear liquids due to complications. Broth with added protein powder, protein shakes made with water and juice, and so on. Please send my love and let her know I am praying for her.

Oh gosh, this is just horrible! Please send her my regards and prayers. I am so sorry this has happened to her. I agree with Gerri though, she really needs to keep hydrated. Tell her to drink her protein and drink broths with added protein. Oh man, this is just bad...please tell her, if she's up to it, to email me and I'll be glad to talk with her if she needs support. I'm so sorry that Cynthia is having a hard time.  Please let her know that even though I'm not on this board ofter, I will be praying for her healing and recovery.
