Looking for a cookbook???
Hey gang. I found a bariatric cookbook that I am thrilled with. It is called:
"Eating Well after Weight Loss Surgery" by Pat Levine. She had Lap Band surgery herself. It is a really cool cookbook because it has recipes with instructions for all types of surgery and stages. It also has the nutritional value right there...so you know how much protein, calories, sugar, etc is in the dish when it is prepared. I also like that it makes 4 servings so you can eat with your family. I have tried a couple of the dishes and they are really good. I bought mine at Barnes and Noble but I found it on
Amazon.com. Check it out!!!

Very well, thanks for asking! I've lost 25lbs from my pre-op weight and when you add in the 11lbs that I gained in the hospital, that brings my grand total loss to 36lbs! I'm moving to Stage 4 (pureed). I've been eating Tuna Salad made with egg, dill pickles, and low-fat mayo. So far, so good. Dr. Tom says that I am doing great. Next week I will move up to Stage 5 (soft) and when I see him again on 1/23, he said that will be when I start eating regular. BTW, take a peek at my profile. I downloaded a pic today with Dr. Tom and Taryn (& me too, of course).
So, how are you doing?
Really??? My appointment is 1:45. Perhaps I'll see you there... If not, I'm sure I'll see you at 5:30 at the Support Group. I go see Beth on 1/22, too. Wish they could've been on the same day. I'm glad you are doing well! I'm sure you will be loving the YMCA soon! If they've got it, try the Water/Aqua Aerobics. I hear it's great. I'm thinking about joining Curves. Just gotta check out the prices. Do you happen to know anything about it? Is it worth it? Talk to you soon! Kathy
