PFT Pulmonary Function Test PFT measures how much air and how well air moves in and out of your lungs. The test checks how your lungs work. It may be done to check for lung disease how you respond to your treatment or how well your lungs work before surgery. Arrive on time for your test. The test takes about hour. To Prepare Do not smoke for - hours before the test. Only eat a small meal before the test so you can take deep breaths during the test.

Hey Tony, the only tests I had to have before surgery were EKG, Gallbladder ultrasound, Bloodwork, and a chest X-ray. The EKG was for the heart of course, and they cheked me for gallstones with the ultrasound, then I suppose the bloodwork is for your bloodtype and whatever else, then the chest x-ray to see your lungs. Thats basically all I had done. All surgeons are different but thats the basics. Take care man.
