Buying clothes ahead of time~
This was kind of funny so I must share! I am two months post-of from a lap RNY and have lost 50 lbs. I had a $10 gift card from Fashion Bug and had to be used by tomorrow, so my husband & I were in E-town and while he was in Barnes and Noble, I browsed Fashion Bug. Since I am already wearing 1X shirts, I went over to the regular size clothes and looked at the shirts and ended purchasing two halloween shirts for next fall and both of them are larges. When I got home I was showing my husband my new shirts and telling him they were for next Halloween and I was estimating what size I would be wearing by then. He kept staring at them and shaking his head and saying I think they are way too little. I told him that he just doesn't know, but I WILL be that size. When we got married 18 years ago I was a little over 200 lbs then, so he has never seen me at 140-150 lbs and I think he is in for quite a shock for when I do reach goal (hopefully by next summer or fall). I CAN'T WAIT!!!

Kathy if you are in a 1X now you will probably be smaller than a large by next October. You will be amazed. I am 14mth out and I hit goal at 11mths. The time flies by, or so it did for me. I had a friend you gave me all her old clothes, very simple stuff. Started at size 16 and went to size 10. It was three huge tubs. I have had the best time with that. I haven't had to buy hardly anything. So its ok to shop ahead but don't buy too big because you will be smaller than you can imagine.

well you may end up using those as night shirts. I started out in a 2X shirt and sixe 26 jeans, just a year later I was in a medium top and a size 10 jeans. now 2 1/2 years post op, I wear a small shirt and a size 8 jeans. I had a few tops that i loved that were a X large and was going to use them as sleep shirts but after waking up and finding my boobs hanging out the neck, i knew it was time to part with those shirts.
everyone loses differently and I also had a TT so that makes a difference. I started at 277 the day of surgery and I now hover around 150. I am 5'8

Hi Toni! Yes, things are going well for me. Thanks for walking down from your room while we were in the hospital to see me. I walked down to yours, but you had already left. I look and feel so much better than I did while in the hospital. I felt like a total mess the whole time I was there (but I really didn't care!! LOL!!) It sounds like you are doing really well (like me!!) Our Christmas holidays were good and I didn't do any overeating for the first time in my life!! I am excited about the upcoming year and continuing to lose, so hopefully by summer I will be at goal.
Nice talking!!
