MIA for 4 weeks...
First, thank you to everyone for all of their well wishes on my surgery. I'm now four weeks post-op and have not been on the boards most of the time. I was so addicted to this site prior to the surgery, but after the surgery I've really been concentrating on getting well.
This week I feel like I've finally turned the corner and am feeling "truly" better. Yesterday I actually even faced the shower head when taking a shower! In weeks 2 & 3, I was having some very strange pains to the left of my belly button. I thought I had pulled a muscle or something. However, I took some Milk of Mag for something else and started feeling better from there. I'm going to try and take it once a week for a while (nastiest tasting stuff, though) and hope all continues to go well.
I'm down ~30 pounds. I tried on some older size 20 pants which fit so well that I wore them to my company's Christmas party (down from 22/24). I'm interested to see if my family can tell a difference at Christmas. I think that will be my bigger test.
Again, thank you to everyone for their support and sorry I haven't written sooner. Everyone on the board is so wonderful and can always be counted on in time of questions and fears!
Happy Holidays, Kim
Glad you are back. I do was addicted to this site prior to surgery and then I turned it off a week before. Sounds like you had the dreaded left side pain, which a lot of people get, I did and it was miserable. That is a wonderful WL of 30lbs. It gets better and better, believe me. How are you doing with the protein? Are you able to get it down? Hope you are out and about, moving, I swear that is the key to feeling better. I wish you continued good health. Have a wonderful holiday season.
