Can someone help with a little info...How long did it take from the time u got approved till ur surgery date

1 month... only because I had to be smoke free for one month before surgery.

About 6 weeks. It could have been done in 4 but I had to work it around my husbands schedule. So I waited 6 weeks. jane

Mine took about 5 weeks...My Dr requires 4 classes pre op...and I got my approval so fast that I had to wait till I completed those...But I think it was pretty quick...Good Luck Amy

Hi Tony, I saw my surgeon Dr Shina on Oct 5 2004 for my inital consult and seminar. I had my first denial Dec 2004 and was then approved Jan 10, 2005. I had surgery on March 24, 2005. I know its not that long of a wait for some. I guess it depends on who your dr is and how backed up they are at the time. I had my initial visit with the surgeon on May 15, 2006. I had my lap-RNY on October 5, 2006. The entire process for me, from beginning to surgery, was 4 1/2 months. I'm a happy camper minus 55 pounds!

Tony, I had my initial consult/seminar on 7/25/2006. Insurance approved three days later on 7/28 and I had surgery on 9/8. I could have scheduled the surgery two weeks sooner but I already had a trip out of town scheduled that I didn't want to cancel. Steve

After we realised that my insurance company lost my paperwork it took less than a week to get approved then I had to finish my classes.
