Insurance exclusions

I am under my husband's insurance. They have an exclusion for weight loss surgery. Has any one had any luck beating these exclusions?

I had NO LUCK at all with our exclusion so I had to go finance the money myself to have the surgery, but that might not be the case with yours. My surgery date is December 4th Good luck in your fight!!!! MelKay

I am on my hubby's insurance (Humana PPO) and it clearly lists it as an exclusion. I was denied....my insurance coordinator said she has NEVER seen an exclusion be approved. I then started a new job in August and got Anthem for me ( I checked first to make sure it wasn't an exclusion). Well they approved me on the first letter and I'm having to have it next month since I dropped the plan for 12/31/06. Basically I picked up Anthem, just to cover WLS.

it probably ain't going to happen. I have had the same fight. So I switched insurance last month and it takes effect jan 1. after that it should be all systems go i got my fingers crossed and so do others on here as everyone on here is cheering for others to gert the surgery because they know it works.
