I had the Lap-band surgery a couple of years ago and have lost 100 pounds. The problem? I cannot seem to lose anymore weight no matter how hard i work out. i am not eating more then 800-1000 calories a day and still nothing. the weight loss is slo slow that I want to throw the scale out of the house and this has gone on for more the 9 months now. HAs anyone else had this problem and if so did you get it fixed and if so how? Any and all help or support would be grately appreciated. Natalie

Natalie 100lbs is wonderful. You need to post on the lap band board. I am sure someone there can help. They say sometimes its what your not eating that will help. What about exercising? I have heard that your body gets use to the routine and you need to switch things around. Do you go to support meetings? I am sorry I have no answers, but hang in there and keep asking for help. Jane

Hey Natalie I am having my Lap Band on Monday. I applaud you on 100 lb lost That is great!!! I know that my doctor has said that he is pretty aggressive with fills. Meaning, he wants us to keep losing. Have you called your doctor to see if maybe you need a fill? Other than that, I have heard about very long plateaus that end one day with the scale moving. My suggestion would be to throw the scale out the window and keep doing what you are doing. When your body is ready to give up another pound or two, it will. I know, easier said that done. I have read alot out on the Lap Band board, so this comes from what I have heard them say. They also say alot to just go back to the basics. Go back to making sure you are getting in protein and water and small portions and eating the low fat, low carb stuff. Good luck to you!! It makes me happy to see someone so successful on the band since most on this site have had RNY. Keep up the good work and let us know how you are doing.
