Thanksgiving is the time to eat, eat, eat & nobody loved it like me. Just wonder how I'm going to feel this year since my surgery and I don't eat like I did. Now my family ask "Is that all you're going to eat?" I still love to cook and don't mind if other people are eating. Kind of gives me a felling of power that I don't have to eat everything on the table. Is anybody out there feeling like this? How are you going to deal with all the food in front of you? I'm still looking forward to Thanksgiving cause I've lost 90 lbs & I'm looking good!!! lol

Hi Ginny, I was wondering the same thing back in Feb. But now that I'm nine months out I'm not even worried about it. My family knows I won't be able to eat much but I'm really looking forward to it. Congrats on the 90 lbs! Take care.

Hey Danville girl!! Are you feeling better? My family thinks that if you're not eating you're either a)mad or b)sick. Diet was a 4 letter word when I was growing but now they're comming around.

Hey there Ms. Ginny...just remember why you had this surgery and how great you feel...the holidays have never bothered me a bit..for one thing I love finding new recipies to play with that I can eat too... I use to love mashed potatoes but since my surgery I rarely eat white ones I prefer sweet potatoes..so I make a casserole using splenda, cinnamon and a bit of orange juice then bake them up...the first time I made it my whole family went nuts over them so that's how I do them up now. you can have the turkey..salad..the only thing I don't eat is the bread..I also make a sugar free apple pie with splenda that's sooooo good. This year me and hubby will be alone on Thanksgiving..I called my brother and begged him to have my parents to his house..they didn't want to leave me and still feel bad but I figure I made the decision for my plastic surgery so why should they not enjoy the holiday? anyway, mom is making me baked apples with splenda..gawd they are so good. so don't feel down about the holidays, find new ways of fixing things..it's fun experimenting and if you don't tell the family they probably won't know the difference or like your recipies better.. go to splenda.com just remember don't use the splenda mix...it's high in sugar. Hi Ginny, congrats on your weight loss. That is wonderful. I am cooking but we are all chipping in. Now I feel like its all about spending time with the family and not all about eating. Sure the men, will eat till they want to explode but I'm looking forward to Pumpkin SF parfait that my little sister is making and some good coffee with flavored creamer, just a little. We are all pitching in and cooking. We have shrimp ****tail that is so good for us. Turkey, I will have a bite of stuffing but I love the greenbeans and brocholi. So just a little bite of each and some new recipies. It will be a great day. Jane

You are looking SO good Jane!! That's my plan too, eat a bite or 2 of everything. My problem is if I drink with my meals I get really full so I'll have to watch that. I really enjoy your postings.
