Thursday the lady from Norton's bariatric is calling me back with an appointment for the seminar in Jan '07. I am so thrilled and excited I could cry. My journay is about to begin. I might be able to be normal one day. I can't beleive this might actually happen for me one day. And my husband has come around, it worries me having surgery, but he agrees we have to do something.

That should have said it worries him with me having surgery, he is afraid soemthing will go wrong. I had my gallbladder out last year with no complications, so I know I can handle surgery.

Donna, Congrats on taking the first step. For me, that was the hardest part so far (I have surgery in 13 days). Is your husband going with you to the seminar? It might help alleviate some of the fears he has to be able to hear the presentation and meet the surgeon. Good luck to you!

Congrats, that is wonderful!!! Are u seeing Dr Geller or Dr Shina? There are 2 Nortons up there in Louisville. I went thru Nortons Suburban with Dr Shina. Dr Geller is also a wonderful dr. This has been the most amazing journey. I can't explain what it feels like and I am excited and happy for u! Thanks to both of you. Yes my hsuband will be going with me. I didn't realize there were 2 Nortons in Louisville. I know the surgeon I've chosen is Jeffery Allen, he did a friend of mine last summer.

My friend had Dr Allen also. I've heard good things about him too. Sounds like u r heading to Nortons downtown. Its a nice hospital also. U take care and let us know if u need anything.

Thank you everyone for your support. I was affraid no one would understand. And no one knows but my husband and 2 adult sons, and my friend who had hers done this summer. People seem to think you just eat less, or eat better, but it doesn't work,a nd they've never had to do it to know it doesn't work. Ok, so this Nortons is by Jewish right? I can find that no problem then, I hope.

Boy do I hear u on that. My father in law was one of the worst that would say crap like, well if u would just push the plate back or some stupid crap like that. Unless someone has walked in your shoes they have no idea what u r going thru or what u have been thru. Others would say this is the easy way out, well I got news for them, its not. Nortons is down by Jewish, somewhere in that area lol. I don't drive much in Louisville. I had to drive my hubby home from Breckinridge Lane tonight and man, did I get nervous.
