I use body fortress whey protein from walmart... its the best priced one with the best taste I have found. Tastes just like a chocolate milk shake or just chocolate milk. I love this stuff and a huge canister of it is 14 bucks. Have you tried turkey or chicken? As far as the hair issue goes..... Mine has been falling out in chunks thats why I ended up cutting it. I get all of my protein and water in and its still coming out....

I mix it with skim milk but i think you can also mix it with water. I am sure that its normal for hairloss. The protein helps but if its gonna come out it will come out.

Jessica, I'm five months out now and started losing my hair a month or so ago. It comes out so badly that my husband has commented on the WADS of hair. I noticed about three days ago that it's not coming out nearly as badly as it was. Just overnight there was a HUGE change. I know because I kept the wad from the day before and compared to that morning. Then the next morning compared to the morning before. HUGE change. I'm so glad too because I've lost about 30% of my hair now, maybe more. As far as protein, I get the cocoa from the weight loss clinic. It's delish. I mix it with water. I'm not allowed milk for at least one year and maybe never again, the doc's nurse said. I too have a problem with milk. I eat chicken, turkey, ham, steak... any meat I want. I also eat mixed nuts, peanut butter (but very little cuz it makes me sick now), cheese, eggs and sometimes cottage cheese. These are all good sources of protein. I do the tuna too, tried salmon but EWWWW! It was disgusting so that's off MY list of "foods to eat". Gale

Hey Jessica, I think the hair thing happens no matter what. Mine started at 4 mths and continued for a couple mths. Then it stops. I cut mine shorter and colored it. Which made it look not as bad. I eat protein bars that I suppliment for a meal. The one I eat has 23 grams of protein. Cut it into 1inch cubes and snack on them all day. The bar makes like 15 pieces. Its too much to eat at first. It only has 3 grams of sugar, make sure you check the sugar. Kroger makes a carb control yogurt that has 12 grams of protein. It is thick lick custard pudding. It is really good. I eat one of these for a meal. I am now able to get all my protein in in the foods I eat. Good luck, hang in there but the hair thing happens to everyone. Jane

Ok, I ahve a question. I haven't had the surgery yet, but does your hair always fall out? Is that perment, is it coming back? I ahd some hari loss a few years ago due to my weight and lost probably half of it, if I lose much more everyone will see it.

Honestly, I think its just luck of the draw, some people experience hairloss and some do not. Mine has been falling out since i was 4-5 mos out... I am 6 mos out now and hopefully the loss will slow down. I also cut my hair short and I plan on coloring it. My hair started out super thick and now its thin. I also take biotin to help with the hair issues... it seems to help with both hair and nails.

My hair has been falling out since I had my son almost 7 years ago. Actually even before that when I got married almost 8 years ago. No really lol I pull it out all the time. I am just over a month out and haven't noticed any change yet my hair is still super thick. Never know what the future may bring for my poor hair though.
