Stress test not so good...
Well I'm scheduled for surgery Friday, Nov. 17. I had my stress test this past Thursday which didn't go so well. I did the medicated stress test vs. the treadmill and got sick towards the end. When I threw up, it sent my heart into an irregular heartbeat and they said I had atrial fibrillation. This apparently means that the upper chamber of my heart isn't working properly. Luckily my heartbeat converted back to normal on its own before I left.
Then the cardiologist called the next morning to say that the stress test showed some "slight" abnormalities. What does "slight" mean! It sounds similar, though, in that there might be some blockage in the upper chambers of my heart. Now they think there might be a connection between me getting sick and the results of the stress test.
So I now have to go in first thing Monday to have a cardio catheter performed to confirm whether I do or do not have any blockage. I go in at 6:30a Monday and will get the results in recovery. I'm nervous that this might delay my surgery.
Has anyone else had anything like this? Anything you can share? Should I be concerned?
Sorry for the long post but I'm so close that I'm nervous that something will happen to delay or stop this from happening.

DON'T PANIC!! I had a stress test that came up with a slight abnormality as well. Had to have the heart cath. Every thing came out normal. The cardioligist said it was the only way to know for sure. I was on my way home in two hours after the cath. They used a plug in the artery. I had mine done at King's Daughter's Hospital in Ashland, Ky.
