Absentee Poster...
I just wanted to apologize that I've been such an absentee poster lately. I've been a little more active in my life (a good thing) and haven't had much time to post. After seeing what I've missed by not taking a few moments a day to read and post, I feel just awful that a few of you are going through some rough times and I wasn't there to offer my support.
Mike told me some of what was going on, but I still didn't take the time to look for myself. I am really sorry for letting you guys down and I promise to do my best to take the time to make sure I'm here to offer my support.
You guys have made this change in my life so much easier and I want to offer the same to you all. I think it is so important to have a working network of friends and support, and I'd like to participate in doing that.
I'm doing well and have lots of energy. Poor Mike has to remind me that he is only a few weeks post op and I need to slow down.
We both are happy with our choice and are looking forward to the day when we're discussing and actively looking for a PS to do our body lifts.
Thank you all for being here for me...
Dee

Hey girl!!! I have been thinking about you. How have you been doing?? We miss your pretty face lol but I totally understand.... When you are able to get out and do things you couldnt do before it gets very exciting. I am glad you have more energy and are feeling good!
Have a great day hon!!! Glad you are back
Sarah
Hey Dee don't worry. We all ask Mike how you are doing. Isn't it great to feel good. Last night I tore the wallpaper border off my livingroom. The night before that we tore out all the carpet. I would never have done this a year ago. First of all I couldn't bend over to tear up the carpet. Crawl around on the floor or climb the ladder. I was standing on the back of the couch. You I'm sure are finding you are doing stuff you haven't done in years. Anyway drop in and let us know how you are doing. We get a little crazy at night sometimes so make sure to put your 2cents in.
You take care
Jane
Hey guys,
Thanks for understanding. It is an amazing feat for me to be able to do things that I've not done before. I am gaining more mobility each and everyday. I am walking more now than I have in the last 5 years.
I am making plans to go back to school in the summer, part-time, and then full time in the following fall.
I still hurt, somedays worse than others, but I take my gel-caps and they help a lot. Jane, you are so right about doing things now that say a year ago wasn't able to be done. I am actually able to lift my legs up to my knees when I put on my shoes. This time last year, Mike aided me with that one. It's just a little thing, but seems like, (as Sarah puts it) a "wow" moment.
I am doing well. I've only had a few days here and there where I'm extremely tired and don't feel up to doing much. I had an awfully strong monthly a few weeks ago and I'm thinking that was a large part of the fatigue.
Mike and I are looking into purchasing bicycles. We were looking at the ones at WalMart, but have decided to go to a specialist shop, because I'm such a short person, that I will need a 22" bike instead of the standard 24" and 26". I am so psyched about getting a bycycle and riding again.
That is the latest with me, what's new with you guys? I think about y'all everyday too, hoping that each of you are doing well.
Talk to ya soon--
Dee

Hey Dee i got a bike last year. I'm not short so I was able to get mine at Target. They actually had a schwin. It is one of those big old people bikes but I needed the big handle bars to clear my stomach. It had 5 gears and a large seat. After I started riding I wished it had a tractor seat. We still ride. Bikes are a lot of fun. When you were talking about tying your shoes that brought back a memory. When I tied my shoes it was all I could do to get my foot to my knee and the bow was always on the side of my shoe. Now I just bend over feet on the floor and tie the prettiest bow. It's amazing what we settled for.

All of this talk is making me so anxious!!! The doctor's office called today to inform me that they will be calling me back on Monday to talk about surgery dates. I'm like, what the heck?? Talk about DATES? I want the first available. I don't care what I'm doing, I'll cancel it!! LOL I don't care if it's Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, or New Years!! Just INK me in!!! LOL I'm ready! I've been ready!! Let's get this show on the road!! LOL Jeez, I feel like jumping up and down and squeeling, but I would hurt myself. Or something else!! LOL
Anyway...... I hope the talk is this positive when I need it! I don't have any support here. Well, no one to whip up on me. I'm the boss around the house and I guess sometimes that's not a good thing... LOL But, anyway........ I know I can count on you gals to get me through it. I'm thinking just til spring, just til spring. Then I can get out and enjoy the weather and be more active with my new body I'm going to have. YEAH!!!
Well, you gals have a great night!
Hugs,
Sharee
Right before my surgery I got too nervous and I actually turned off my computer. I just sat for hours looking at the before and afters and reading peoples profiles. I was at peace with my decision but of course everyone wants to tell you about someone they work with sisters cousin ect.... who of course had major complications. When you are close to your date you don't need to hear all that crap. Hang in there. Jump on here for support unless the board is too noisy then I would turn it off. Good luck on your date. My sister is having hers the Monday before Thanksgiving. My other sis is 3 weeks out so I'm thinking the 24 lb turkey I bought just needs to be cut in half.We are gonna make the day revolve around having fun and not the food. Also I am dragging all there buts shopping at 4:30 Friday Morning. We did it last year and omg what a hoot. We didn't know the rules so Amy cheated alot. She didn't stand in lines. We have walkie talkies for this year. The funny thing is none of us needed anything last year. Oh well you take care.
Jane
You mean there are rules....Mimi got what she needed didn't she?....Especially the Jeep for Evan...That was pretty funny...But hey...I really didn't know...But I am glad we traveled as a group...or I may have been in danger for my life...I did make a few people really mad...LOL...I am ready this year...
Amy
I figure I'm now small so I should be able to sneak around. We put 2 coats of paint on all the trim and watched it dry, HAHAHAHA. I wouldn't stick so we ended up wiping everything off and we are going to keep the trim as was. You talk about a mess. We are going to deliver you Gazelle tomorrow night if ok.
Check out Mimi profile. Looks great.
