Hi lisa. First of all, Congrats on the weight loss. That is GREAT. I have Anthem PPO and I live in KY. I work in Ohio. My insurance has approved my Lap Band after appeal. A girl I work with also has the same insurance and was approved on the first try. The best advice for your sister is to shop around. For Anthem to cover: must have a BMI >35 (with other condition such as diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea or something like that. If her BMI is 40 or > she may qualify for the surgery without having to jump through the same hoops as I did. My BMI is 35.3 but I have other conditions that qualified me. My friend's BMI was >40 and she did not have to get the same kind of testing. So, just check them out. Good luck Mimi
