OT: Bulging/herniated disc?
Just a quick question for u guys tonight. Our car wreck was a week and a half ago and my husbands MRI showed that from the accident he has bulging disc in his neck and back. Our chiropractor ordered the MRI and he wants to go on and start adjusting or trying to adjust Adam. My question is, should we see what our family dr says about this. He was supposed to have been sent a copy. But we haven't heard anything from him. The chiropractor orignially put him off work for 2 weeks and today told him it would be 2 more weeks. Time off isn't a bad problem cause he gets short term disabilitly and of course lost wages from my insurance. I am worried about him. His pain is getting better than it was and I know it takes time. Has anyone been thru this with herniated or bulging disc? The chiro said the MRI didn't show anything too major, no nerve damage, just "bulging" disc in his neck and back. Any thoughts and info appreciated.
Hugs

Angela! i have been in car accidents, and yes one left me with disc problems in my neck and back and had thearpy for months and still to this day it stll gives me problems, with numbness in my right arm and shoulder, and pain and this last accidet was about 2 years ago, so make sure you get you a good lawyer! hope you all and your husband gets better , it takes time to heal.
Angela get hold of your family doc. IMMEDIATELY! Abulging disc is not something you want a chiropractor working on. Not sure but I will ask my mom, I believe she saw a neurosurgeon for her back. She has had her back fused twice and might need to do it again. Your family doctor should be able to point you in the right direction. I believe due to it being the spine with all of the nerves in it, is why I said Neurosurgeon.
Hey Ryan, he saw the family doc today and we took a copy of his MRI to him. The family doc said its not real bad, its almost normal and he did suggest keeping with the chiro. Adam is getting better. He acts better, he doesn't look like he's in as much pain and he says its not as painful as it was. Hopefully his bulging disc wasn't as severe as it could have been. I don't know. I am so confused from dealing with the insurance co's, his short term disability people, his work, everything. I need a vacation badly...
Thanks

Are u kidding me? Even hurt he's a horny old dog, sorry that might have been way too TMI. But he's that sort of guy. I don't think he could get too much tlc. I'm teasing. I'm here to help him if he needs me but I won't baby him cause he's not the type of person that would appreciate that. By the way, I am such a big mouthed idiot. Earlier when I replied to your post I assumed everything was okey dokey with our MD. We dropped off a copy of the MRI to him and it looked normal. Ok, they called later this evening and just as a precaution they're sending him to a neurosurgeon to be checked out. Thats what I get for assuming everything is ok. However, our MD did say to continue with the chiro. I assume if he thought the chiro would do Adam more harm than good he'd say stop. He's been our MD for 6 yrs now and I trust him I just don't understand why he wants him to keep seeing the chiro until the neuro dr appt. They didn't call till after 5pm and he'd already left. We find out more Monday. U have my permission to call me a big mouthed idiot for pressuming too much. I'm a woman, I can admit when I'm wrong, (thats not very often
lol)
Have a great night. Have u had any good news on getting u approved??? I've been so caught up in my own issues I haven't "seemed" concerned with my friends. Hope everything is going better.
