What to do

Hi guys how is every one doing i am new to this whole thing and i just have a few questions. First off does anyone know if you can have children after you have lap band done? i was wondering because i am seventeen but would like to have children some day. and my second question is what is the first step i need to take after deciding i want to have this done. I am totally lost and could use some help. God bless you all and thanks for your help

Yes you can have children after lap band or RYN. It's not a problem, just make sure you make all the right decision on your eating & vitamins & find a OB-GYN that's familiar with WLS. Have you decided were to have your surgery? Usually the Dr.s will send you a package with all the insurance & info. Have you been to any meetings? That's a great way to learn & ask questions. Also this site is the best. It took me a year to get my insurance to pay for my surgery & this site really helped me. I had my RYN at Bluegrass Baratics in Georgetown. They are super! Yes, you can have children after lap-band surgery. The first step is: Go to your family doctor and get a referal to see a BARIATRIC surgeon. Dr. Rodriquez and the Norton's Bariatric Center is a great doctor. I think he is the best!! He is also in charge of the trauma unit at one of the downtown hospitals, so he is used to dealing with emergency situations too!! But, like I said, you need to get a referal from your doctor and make an appointment with a Bariatric Surgeon and attend one of their seminars. You can call Norton's or Suburban Hospital and see if you can attend a seminar or have them send you an information packet before you even decide on a surgeon. Good luck, again! Sharee
