i am a 20 year survivor of a rny gastric bypass. it saved my life and it gave me a life. i am a 46 year young man in reasonably goog health. no smoke no drink pre op was 376 lbs in 1986 and today im at 207 and still fighting the good fight. and it will always be a struggle. but that size 54 pair of pants still hangs in my closet to remind me of what the altennative is...every day is a struggle and a challenge but it is worth it to me the things in life and life itself is woth fighting for...

Wow 20 years, I have read so many threads where people gain weight back, thank you for sharing this with us. I know everyone does not gain it back. This post makes me have hope all over again.

Indeed, 20 years is fantastic!! I imagine that it will always be a struggle, making the reality even stronger that this surgery is only a tool and not a cure. I'm real happy for you that you have been successful and wish you continue success in your journey. Thank you very much for sharing! Dee
