drunk on what..............

I am 11 mo out and i got the biggest hangover that i have ever had....me and hubby went to starbucks,i ordered a cup of regular coffe with a shoot of sf syrup and i got a little milk in it and 2 packs of splenda.........well after i drank about 1\2 the cup............i started feeling shakey,well then hubby said my eyes where glassed over, so i told hubby to ask if the syrup was sf and he did,but the lady put 5 squirts in it,within 10 min i hit the car and hubby said i was drooling, when i woke up about 2 hr later, i had the biggest headache and i felt like i had a hangover...........Does sf syrup make you dump? I have been having sugar free for a long time,i guess the syrup has alot of sugar alcohols................so for you new peeps beware of starbucks!!!! cheermom

I dumped for the first time a few weeks ago. I was so sick, just like you said with a hangover the entire next day. I have been very careful but I had something with 9grms of sugar and I was fine. I had something that had 11grms and I started feeling the same way but didn't get anywhere as sick as the first time. The sugar alcohols are just as bad, I think, as plain sugar. It's been really cool here. I love coffee and all the flavored creams. But I am being so careful. BTW you look wonderful. Jane

WoW Vickie, that is awful that you got sick like that! I hope that you're feeling better. I have a nurse friend that is a gastric bypass patient, about a year and a half post op, and she is a Starbucks-a-holic!! She can drink them without any problem what so ever. Go figure... I didn't realize that sugar alcohols could possibly make us dump, I'm glad that you all shared this. I like Starbucks, but if it causes that much grief, forget it!! Take care hon-- Dee
