University of Kentucky Plastic Surgery

Hello everyone !!!!! I am having a consult at U of K in October. I was wondering if anyone out there has had any plastic surgery there? I am wondering about their resident plastic surgeons doing surgery? I was told they do it all the time on gastric bypass people. I thought I'd seen someone post on the ps board, but no luck in finding them. Any information sure would be most helpful !!!! Do they combine procedures, so you could possibly get it all done in one or two surgeries? I am so worked up about all this. Thanks to all who take the time to read this post.

Hi Julie, can't answer the question about interns. I am having my plastics in Nov. by the top plastic guy here in Cinci..I just love him and feel very confident having him do this..He is a professor at UC and though interns may be in the OR at times, they do not perform the surgery... anyway, when it comes to combining the procedures, I am having abdominoplasty and a breast lift...that will take approximately 6 to 7 hours because of the huge hernias..that is all he will do at that time..he never goes beyond the 7 hrs. so it really depends on what you want to have done. I feel the same about a plastic doc as I do having someone any type of belly surgery, only a bariatric surgeon will ever go in there.....he has to know gastric bypass patients, he needs to know how our skin is and how difficult it is to work with or the results could be less desirable ( I have seen it happen) when going under the knife I intend to do this once..hopefully, so I want it done by the best with the best results... My surgeon will be at the LExington conference end of Oct..his name is Dr. Kurtis Martin, if you attend tell him I sent you..he knows me all to well..lol Brenda
