I can't help it, I am just so scared that the sinus infection I have will cause my surgery this Friday to be delayed. I went to my pcp last Friday and told him I was having surgery this Friday, Sept 8, panniculectomy with hernia repair. He gave me a antibotic called Cipro 500mg 2 times a day and mucinex 2 times a day. I am taking them just like I'm supposed too. Most of the time I feel fine. At times I have a stuffy nose, sinus headache. He acted like I'd be just fine to have surgery this Friday, but I'm a worry wort. I've waited so long for this and I'm scared it will be put off. On one hand I figure that by Friday my sinus issue will be long gone and I'll be fine, but on the other hand, my hubby's working tonight and I guess I ain't got nothing better to do but sit around and worry. Gotta give myself some positive reinforcement, lol! I will be fine!!! I will be having surgery this Friday! Thanks for letting me vent my worrys ya'll. Hugs Ange

Being sick just plain sucks! I know when I'm sick, I am always making things bigger than what they really are. You just have the flu-blues and it's causing some anxiousness in you with the surgery coming up. I don't see how being sick could interfere with your surgery, since your PCP has already told you that the antibiotic he gave you shouldn't cause any problems and all. I'm sorry that you're feeling bad, just hang tough and keep taking that musinex, it is some fantastic stuff! Before you know it, you'll be hurtin' from the stitches from your TT and putting all this well behind you. Dee

I told my hubby today that I wish I could have the surgery but skip the pain part, lol. I don't mind pain I just dislike not being able to take care of myself, our daughter, the house, but I know he'll help me out. The mucinex must be breaking up this crap cause I am blowing my nose like crazy and starting to sneeze like crazy. Oh well. Long as its coming out I don't care.

Ange, Whats meant to be is meant to be. If they have to change your date them maybe God wanted it that way. I know what your saying, I wouldnt want to have to wait any longer than I have to either. But sometimes its for the best. Good Luck Amanda

Thanks Amanda, I'm sure it will all work out for the best! I will call my ps's office Tuesday just to let them know whats going on unless I feel 100% better. Your surgery is pretty soon too isn't it?

Angela, Just saw you on here and wanted to say hi. I am a patient of Dr. Shina's as well and will be having a LAP RNY this Friday, September 8th. I am looking forward to it. Just had an IVC filter put in this morning. Did you have your WLS at Suburban and if so what did you think of it? I saw someone on here said that all of their rooms are private? Good luck with your surgery on Friday.

Hi Steve, I'm so glad u did say Hey! First of all, u have one of the best dr's around. Dr Shina to me is just the best! I had my filter put in at Suburban and my surgery was there also. I requested a private room and had to wait 8 hours in recovery until they had one. Not all their rooms are private but I had to stay in there 5 days after wls and had a 3 yr old at the time, she was up there every day with my hubby and I just figured a private room would be better for her to play in. I'll be thinking about u Friday and I guess we'll sort of be neighbors Friday night cause I'll be right down the road at Baptist East, lol. I wish u the best and keep in touch. I would say I'd drop by Saturday on my way home and see u, but I'm a huge wiener when it comes to pain. I don't know what to expect pain wise with this surgery but most are saying its as bad as the open gastric bypass I had so I'll probably take a large pain pill, put a pillow on my tummy and have my hubby drive me home Saturday soon as my PS lets me out of there. Good luck and keep me posted on how u r doing! Hugs Ange

I forgot to add this. Suburban is a great hospital. I loved it for my stay. I would have chosen it for my plastics but Dr Durham Smith's office is right across the road from Baptist East and I just thought, what the heck, I'll try this one for this surgery. The nurses and everyone at Suburban were really great and I wish u the best!
