I went to the support group at Suburban this past Tuesday and was really disappointed in the turn out. I guess the state fair and school starting was a couple of the reasons people weren't there. I understand that everyone is busy, including me, but I had to sign a contract with Dr. Geller that I would attend for a year. This support group is for us, to help us & encourage us through this journey. Statistics show that WLS patients have better success when they attend these groups. I would love to see more people there in the future. How about it?
I was also at the Support Group on Tuesday night. I am pre-op and think that knowledge is wealth when researching the different bariatric surgeries. I know that it was a small turn-out, but really, really learned so much from the post-op patients that were there! I get so excited just seeing and talking to patients that have already had the surgery and knowing that I will be one of them soon! I felt so welcome in the group and do plan on attending the support group meetings after my surgery (hopefully this fall!)

I go for my seminar and consult on Tuesday. Can anyone attend these groups? My husband is unable to attend the seminar with me on Tuesday and I'd love for him to hear from preop/postop patients. He's very supportive of me having the surgery but I just don't think he full gets the total lifestyle change that is involved.
Great job for attending the support groups. I'd love to attend as soon as possible. I can't have this surgery fast enough!
