It is finally over, but....
Well, I finally had my gallbladder removed last Friday. I never thought I would be so happy to have surgery again especially only being 3 month post op with LAP RYN, but I was hoping that would help my stomach from hurting and puking, boy was I wrong!!!! I was out of it for a couple of days, but when I started to feel a little better, it only lasted for awhile. When I tried to eat some sf pudding, it wasn't 15 minutes that I was puking and my stomach hurt the rest of the day. Now I am having trouble even keeping water down and the sight and smell of food are making me sick again. I am back to nibbling on my kids goldfish crackers. My daughter asked me the other day "aren't these for kids"? I know that I have to be patient and it hasn't even been a week since my surgery, but I feel like I am back to square one. I hate to call my dr. I don't want to become a pest and one of those patients you dread to hear from. I am truly grateful for everything he has done. He has literally saved my life. My PCP told me if I did not do something soon, I would not be alive in a year and my kids would have no mother. To date, I have lost 77 pounds!!! I would have never been able to do this on my own and despite everything, I am so much healthier than I was 3 months ago. Am I expecting to much of myself too soon??? Any sugestions? Your words of wisdom are appreciated.
Did you need to have your gallbladder removed when you had your RNY surgery? I have Dr. Geller too and I am pretty sure I saw something on my gallbladder u/s. If you are thinking about calling him, he is going on vacation, so you better hurry. I have my surgery on August 9th and they said it is right after he comes back from vacation. I hope you get to feeling better!!!
Thanks,
Michelle
Hey Ana, I think you should call your PCP or Dr Geller. I saw Dr. Geller Thurs and he was leaving for vacation today or tomorrow and not returning until Aug 7. He told me to call his office if I had any problems and Dr Shina is taking care of his patients. Who cares if they think you are a pest? Your health is more important. I had my gallbladder out years ago and I don't remember having those problems. 77 lbs is great but it sure sounds like alot for only 3 months. You have been having problems long enough. Good luck to you.
