Brenda I was wondering what you go through if you were to drink milk. I know you are intolorant and im starting to think I might be as well. I had a craving for milk and I know i need the calcium in it .... but as of lately it gives me painful ... very painful gas and then i have to bolt for the potty. Milk products have never been an issue till today.... that was worse than just drinking plain milk. I have changed over to skim and I know thats what i should have been drinking this whole time but anyway skim doesnt seem to bother me but any milk product is now an enemy... does this sound like intolorance to you or what?

I'm not Brenda but I can tell ya right now milk and me don't get along anymore. I can eat cheese but not milk or sugar free ice cream at all. Makes me sick. My belly hurts, cramps, I get the runs. I tried a small bowl of cheerios with splenda and skim and it even hurt! Hope this helps...

my symptoms are very much the same as Angela's, I have even tried lactaid but nothing seems to help..I miss milk so much... I get sick to my stomach and cramps, now I will say I believe I was a bit intolerant before surgery..I have also had people tell me they have gone from being intolerant to tolerating it again...try the lactose type pills and see if that works..also maybe try the non dairy products like soy milk, rice milk.etc bu****ch your sugar, the health store I go to sells diet that has very low sugar, but alas this all still bothers me. I am determined to try it again when I get the gallbladder removed, seems everything in the world bothers me at this point. again like Angela -I can do the cheese and cream cheese, but not cottage cheese or ricotta cheese..etc. Remember Sarah, what bothers you today may not bother you next month..if you were not intolerant before surgery maybe you are just a bit sensitive..and hey skim milk is much better for you anyway. If you can handle the skim I suggest only using that. ...see ya soon Brenda
