I had lap RNY at Kings Daughters Medical Center on April 18 of this year. I have several words to describe the staff, hospital, Dr, etc. Phenominal, Excellant, Superb, they are simply a cut above the rest. From the time I did my consultation to today they have been the best staff I have ever visited in a Dr. office. The hospital is clean, coureous and helpful to not just you, b ut your family as well. If you would like to email me directly my email is [email protected] or if you have msn messenger my id is [email protected]. I would be happy to delve further into KDMC with you. Gidget

Hi Gidget. If you don't mind....who was your surgeon? I, too will be going thru KDMC. I have ALL my medical thru KDMC. I love them. They are professional and caring. I will be going thru Dr. Tompkins. I hear he is great but have only met him once, breifly at a seminar. I have an appt with him on the 27th and can't wait to talk to him and ask all my questions.

I had Dr. Tompkins as a surgeon. You will like him. He takes time to answer all your questions and explains the surgery in terms that you will understand.

I had surgery there 2 years ago. I really liked the hospital. Everyone that I had interactions with were very helpful. The office staff is helpful and if you have any questions give you an answer back quickly. The insurance lady is good at getting insurance approvals. I still attend support group meetings. I had Dr. Tompkins as my surgeon but I have heard good things about Dr. Wheeler. The procedure is done laposcopic and you stay 3 nights in the hospital. The first day you drink blue liquid to check for leaks. Then you are up and walking. They stress that a lot. If you have anymore questions keep them coming. Wish you luck on the Journey.
