not sure on which forum i belong
I live in INdiana but my surgery will be done at St.Lukes in Florence KY..
I just got started and im very excited...
Does any one else have DR.Sonnastine?
He was a sweetheart and knew his business and i felt very comfortable and at ease.
But mostly i felt safe and i didnt feel like 2 ton tilly .
His staff was wonderful..
Dr. Sonnanstine didn't do my surgery ( I had RNY bypass 3 yrs ago) but I have known him 2 out of those three years..we met right after he started at St. Luke, will be 2 yrs in Oct or early NOv. He is a very compassionate surgeon and loves his patients..he is very involved in the pre and post op care. He amazes me because I can mention a patient and he can tell you what insurance they have, what pre existing condition they have..etc etc. I don't know any other surgeon who can do that..I ask him a question about a patient he had several months ago, he remembered everything about her case.
However, what is really important is his skill level, he was very well trained in laparoscopic (the only way surgery should be done in my opinion)...he is very protective of his patients and a perfectionist. I know this because he allowed me the privilege or watching him as he worked. I attended surgery several months.
I am not sure where you are in the process but if you were in his class Monday I was there too..
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me...

I am headed over there right now as a matter of fact...I am meeting a new patient who ask me to sit in the consultation..
Have a great day
