It's been a while
Hi everyone. It's been too long since I've been in here. I had my surgery 6/5/06 and did great. However, the pain meds they put me on made me sick so every time I tried to walk in hospital, I got so ill I had to go back to bed. The latter part of the second day they switched my pain meds and I got a tiny bit better. I think they were still in my system or something.
I've been really busy since I came home AFTER I got through the first two weeks when my body got weaker and weaker. My husband worked the fireworks by himself for the first couple of weeks and then I worked with him the last few weeks. I was working between 14-16 hours a day AND we're opening a furniture store so that's keeping up busy too. Needless to say, I overdid it a bit.
I also got hurt in my tummy on 4th of July. A 90-lb. girl was laying on my lap with my 40-lb granddaughter and the older/heavier girl placed her hand on my incision (the one with the internal suture) and put all her wt down as she moved her body upward on me. I could barely speak and could only say NO, NO, NO! and finally my brain kicked in and I simply got her lower arm and lifted her off my tummy. I was in pretty bad pain but no serious damage done, THANK GOD! I'm over that now and doing very well.
I ate a little bit of carbs when I was able to eat whole foods again and had no problem with them at all. A week or so later I was still eating them (keep in mind, I only ate tinsy portions) and OH MY GOODNESS! they made me SICK! I didn't throw up, but got VERY sick. It passed quickly though. I ate half a piece of sausage... meat... PROTEIN, right? I now know I can NOT eat anything greasy. That made me sicker than the carbs. Live and learn. I did take four licks of soft-serve chocolate icecream Wednesday at King's Island and it didn't bother me at all. I was good and didn't try to eat anymore.
I'm down 34 lbs as of this morning.
I hope everyone is doing well. I have to shower and get out of here now. I need to go to the grocery and do some more work at our store. We're suppose to open next week.
