Got the first denial.

Just as I expected I got the first turn down of coverages for my WLS. I figurered my Ins company would want to play the game. So time to figure out what round two should involve. I guess I will go about getting my PCP and Endocrinologist to write letters along with a letter from me two. I have a class with the Doctor Monday so I will see what they say then, no sense bothering them until then. Brenda will I still see you Monday at the class?

I am sorry to hear that... I dont understand insurance companies at all... which is probably why i dont deal with them unless I have to lol. Best of luck with your appeal! Stay on it and stay positive!!

Did they tell you why they denied you? My paperwork goes to Humana tomorrow, and I'm anxious about getting approved. I have letters from my PCP and my orthopedist (who treats me for knee and back problems); documentation from my 6-month doctor-supervised diet; and reports from my sleep study, stress test, and echocardiogram. I feel like I'm providing everything Humana asked for (as detailed for me by the insurance coordinator at Georgetown Bariatrics). Did you send in similar material? I hope things work out for you.
