Dee, I know several couples who had done great by having surgery at the same or near the same time. It does help when you are both eating the same and working the tool together..well it least if you are being compliant it will..

Brenda.. things here are moving along. I am still having issues with my lack of apetite. I do weigh myself probably more than I should but I do know that the scale in the exercise room at work is accurate. I have lost 36 lbs and I am averaging about a lb a day. I am working out atleast 3 days a week and I am trying my hardest to avoid any excess skin if at all possible. I am starting to notice more of a difference. lol Seeing me in my scrubs has to be hilarious they are all huge but I think it is too soon to shop or have my mom take them in. I am no longer considered morbidly obese!!! I'm not sure what is more exciting to me at this point!

Don't worry about the appetite Sarah..that's why we had the surgery...I unfortunately get the hungries now so have to pay close attention to what and how much I eat. Eat your small meals, but don't skip them or you may find yourself feeling sluggish..headaches and weak-eat protein first..forget the bread type foods--get your protein drinks in, if you are having problems finding something you like let me know..I have samples here I will share... most important thing to remember this time of year is getting your fluids in....nothing replaces good old fashion water so make sure you get plenty of that...dehydration is not a fun thing to go through, if you are working out you have to make sure you get plenty of it.. exercise is very very good..one way or the other. I don't like "exercise" per say..I enjoy the sports..so I joined a softeball league this year..(I am 50 yrs old, it's darn near killing me, but what fun!!) ride a bike and ride my horses (my first love) and here is my hint on the scale thing...GET RID OF IT...as soon as the weight loss slows down, and it will naturally..you will get frustrated..I would weigh myself several times a day..if I hadn't lost weight from my 8am weigh in to my 1pm weigh in I would get depressed..LOL finally I slid it so far up under the bed I had trouble getting to it..I stopped weighing all together at home..I only weigh at the docs and or the gym.(where I only go in the winter) good luck!!! I am still planning on a day over there soon...I will get in touch so we can get together.. Brenda

HORSES?!?!?! did I see that right?? Girl you cant hold out on me if ya have horses. I havent been on a horse in years and I miss it!!! Instead of a dinner/lunch date how about we have a horse riding get together lol Let me know on that lol Brenda I cant hide the scale...I use the one in the exercise room at the hospital. I use this one because I know its accurate. I might step on the scale at home once maybe twice a week at most. Much better than what I used to do. I have no problems getting my water in... sip sip sip constantly and especially when I am working. I am taking my vitamins regularly so no problems there either. I am getting protein in but its just hard to eat when I need to. Otherwise Im pretty sure that I am doing well. At my last visit I believe Dr. Tom told me that I was right on schedule and that I would lose approx a lb a day( i hope i didnt hear that wrong)Anyway right now I am just in shock at the way my face looks and the reactions of everyone that sees me...It totally rocks! Gotta go... ppl need their blood drawn haha --Sarah

Hey Sarah..yes I have two horses Dude ( a palimino gelding) and Shadow ( a black and white paint mare) you are welcome to come over any time and ride..maybe I should have a cook out or something after my daughter gets married..we can saddle up and ride around the paddock..we only have 5 acres so there isn't alot of riding room here but plenty for anyone who has never been on a horse. Dr. Sonnanstine saw my horses last summer when he came here with Monica Ganz the director of events for ObesityHelp- Nicki Ganz (her daughter), Dr. Stickler and Todd Dawson from Ethicon..I had them here for dinner the night before the conference, I got Nicki to ride but none of the docs did...some how I just didn't want them up there..can you imagine if one of them got hurt at my house..ACK!! LOL glad to hear you are doing so well....hope to see you soon.

Sounds like a plan!! I havent been on a horse in FOREVER so im sure it would be hilarious to see me attempt to pull myself up there lol but I would definately give it a shot lol. Actually (dont laugh lol) the last time i was on a horse i guess i was about 14 or so.... and i had to stand on the horse trailer to get up there lol. But growing up my grandparents had a farm with a dozen or so horses... my dad had to pry my brother and I off those horses at the end of the day.... i guess i was around 6 or so then... ahh the memories.
