protein shake
Hi Tony.........i do gold standard whey from gnc and it is around 20 $ a month it has 24 grms protein,1 grm sugar,100 calories and comes in choc, vanilla,or peanut butter choc.....i take the vanilla and put a scoop in orange sunrise crystal lite and it taste like push up pop.........but gnc has so many and if you buy one you dont like then they let you bring it back for an exchange..............vickie r.
Toni, I use the ELITE protein powder. I have used it for over two years and two chakes most days. I tried many kinds. I love the taste because it is smooth and no aftertaste. I love the consisteny because you can use a shaker cup and not a blender. I almost always buy the Rich Chocolate. (You can make hot chocolate out of it or you can put a banana and peanut butter and a couple cubes of ice in a blender and have a thick rich shake. Or you can just use a shaker cup . I also buy the Gourmet Vanilla because there is so much you can do with vanilla. I used to order the small jugs but they were like 22. each for only two pound. Now, I order two five pound jugs at a time. One each at only 22.85 each. I order online from muscleshoppe.com. You don't have to have a credit card. You can send a money order or check. it just takes a little longer to get it that way. the shipping is reasonable and they use UPS. I usually get mine in three days. it comes in several flavors.it can be mixed with milk or water. hardly any difference in the taste. I use two percent milk because I need the calories.
Hi Toni,
In the beginning I could only tolerate the ATkins Advantage shakes. I have not had shakes in several weeks because I got so tired of them. I like the isopure, and the profect. However that shake that Delores referred to sounds pretty good. I am going to order me some and see how it is! Good luck!
Walmart does have the premixed EAS Advantage Edge shakes in coffee flavored but they would be expensive if that's all the protein you drink. A four pack is about six dollars. Also, the place i referred you to online accepts money orders. Stay away from the ensure. It is high calorie and sugar and most docs do not recommend it alto some do. it is just plain a bad choice for us. You can also make protein shakes from eight ounces of skim milk, one third cup of dry milk. That gives you 16 grams of protein per serving. Then you can add anything you want to, to it.
So far my favorite is IDS Belgian Chocolate. I put a couple of ice cubes in the blender to make it more like a shake & there is no after taste & the chocolate tastes real. Also GNC has a banana creme that's good. I went to www.bariatriceating.com & got a sampler box that was around $30. From that I found what I liked so I could by in bulk. Somebody makes a mint-chocolate that's good too. Good Luck!!!
I use Premium Whey Protein from WalMart. It is about $12 for a 30 serving jug. Each serving has 20 grams of protein and only 5 carbs. I use to use fat free milk to make my shakes, but to cut down on my carb intake I just use water and add 2 ice cubes to make it ice cold. I cant stand any protein shakes if they are not ice cold. The protein powder comes in vanilla or chocolate. The vanilla kind of tasted like marshmallows to me and I didnt care too much for it. I love the chocolate shakes. Add a half tsp of fat free peanut butter and it takes just like a recee cup milk shake.....mmmm....good and nutritious!!
