Dr David Geller - Anyone have experience with him lately?
I have just been approved for surgery LAP-RNY, but have read some negative things about Dr. Geller and his office staff on this site. I have heard that he is joining with Dr. Allen's group and that it will help with the paperwork, etc and that RightWeigh is no longer anything. Anyone know any more about this and how it will effect his patients? I am getting scared to have him as my surgeon. There doesn't seem to be much activity on this site for this area. I wonder why? I know there are alot of patients, but where are they?
Hi Pam, I know a couple of people that had surgery by him and they were pleased, I was gonna go to him but it was too far for me to drive. I haven't heard anything about him joining Dr Allen or the RightWeigh thing, but I've seen him reply to posts on here so maybe he can clarify things. This board is kinda slow compared to the other ones, it just takes some time but someone will reply lol. Everyone likes to lurk
Take care.

Dr Geller is a sweet heart and a wonderful surgeon. I personally had Dr Shina, yes, but would have been just as happy with Dr Geller. When I contacted Riteweigh to start my process they set me up with Dr Shina whom I love to pieces as well. My brother in law had Dr Geller, I sat thru one of his seminars with him and I thought he was very knowledgeable (sp?) and sweet. I don't know who said anything negative about him and they must not have known much about him at all. I think he is great. I never used Riteweigh anyway. Good luck and know that u r in great hands with Dr Geller.

Dr. Geller is great. He done my by-pass at the end of november. I have lost 101
pounds and am doing great. Dr. Geller also done my sisters lapband a year ago
in may she also is doing great. He also has good bedside manners and spends
time with you during your office visits. I often think if he didn't spend so much
time with his patients the waiting room time would be cut in half. lol I will
agree though he has had trouble with his office staff. I think now that things
are getting better. I heard that the hospital did not renew its contract with right-weigh and will be starting a program of its own. Again I think you would be
in good hands with Dr. Geller
Thank you for your comments.
Let me explain the change to our program. The hospital has ended its contract with RightWeigh. RightWeigh is no longer associated with any program, or surgeon for that matter in the area. This why I do not appear on that website anymore.
The bariatric surgeons and program from Norton Suburban have affiliated with the Norton Bariatric Center which has been serving the downton Norton Hospital surgeons for the last 3 years. All of the surgeons at the respective hospitals, Norton and Suburban, will continue to perform surgery at the same hospitals. With this growth in the Bariatric Center additional services are able to be added, including bariatric medicine. With this change, the process for my patients will change, with the first step is to attend a seminar. The involvement of the Norton Bariatric Center will also streamline the process with fulltime involvement, where RightWeigh had only operated 3 days a week.
By the way, work is in progress to reestablish the online presence of our practice as well.
Please call to the office if there are questions about the process to 502-893-7151.
David Geller, MD
Dr. Gellar,
You are so awesome!!! Thanks for being one of those docs who actually takes the time to come on here and help out!!! I came to a seminar a few weeks ago, and actually called the office one day and you answered the phone after hours! You gave a great presentation, and bringing the band was a great visual for me!!!
Thanks so much for caring about all of us as individuals!
