My revision surgery was CANCELLED!!!! My surgeon told me that I have lost too much weight recently to go through with the revision. I have lost weight, but I lost it with diet supplements and adipex. He told me to go off the adipex and see how much weight I gain or lose in the next 3 months before he does the surgery. I doubt my insurance will ever approve me again. I weighed in at 204. I am just 54 pounds from being "normal" but I know once I go off the diet pills that the weight will all come back. I have yo-yo dieted my whole life........Im so tired of this....I wish he had fixed my "tool" like he was suppose to in the beginning and I wouldnt have such a hard time losing the rest of this weight! Im frustrated and hurt. I traveled 5 hours to get to the hospital, went through all the pre-op tests.....and even got stiuck four times to get an IV in me...and then he comes in to say he wasnt going to do the surgery because I have lost too much weight recently.....what in the world is up with that ....he should have had me come in to his office at least a week before surgery .......maybe this was all for the best because I did pray and have everyone I know pray that things would work out for the best.....maybe this way saved my life....I dont know but I am disappointed.....he told me to call him in a month with my weight so I wouldnt have to travel 5 hours to be weighed and sent back home. I have an appointment with Dr. Kimsey( diet specialist) on Thursday. I get weighed in then......we will see how things go from there....I dont want to gain any weight back.....pray for me to lose the rest of this baggage I have hanging on my body and weighing me down!!!!

I'm so sorry to hear about your cancellation. You must be going crazy. I think it's crazy that now you've lost too much weight to have your surgery. I think that the insurance companies rank right up there with telemarketers! On the other hand you have lost weight without surgery & are going to a specialist. Even if you start gaining weight after you go off your diet pills, you'll have documentation that it didn't work & you need the surgery as a last resort. Hang in there Rosanna..............

I m sorry you are so disappointed. Obviosly, your tool is still working. Norally, they don't care how or what you use to lose the weight, if you can lose on your own then there is no need for surgery. This is how they see it. I know it sucks. But even with this surgery, there are posts frompeople every day on the main board that are using diet pills to help them lose and most of us stay on some sort of diet all the rest of our lives. Don't ever be fooled into thinking that if you have the surgery, you will never have to diet again. It is just a tool to help us lose when we try. I wish i could give you a big hug because I feel your pain. Just kkep on doing the best you can. hey, 54 pounds isn't that much to lose in the grand scheme of things. good luck to you.

I am sorry you are disappointed Rosanna..I know that stinks. Keep your chin up and keep doing what you have been doing. It is hard and gets harder..I am 3 yrs out and work at this every day. I will be off line for a week or more as I am having my computer upgraded and reloaded...my brother and I wrote a program together, he is in town to load that as well and to teach me the best ways to use it for some new business projects I am working on... I will check in on you when I can..please keep us posted don't disappear from us..this is where you can always come for support from people who understand.. Brenda
