HOW GREAT IS BLUEGRASS BARIATRICS?
I went to my first seminar and I thourghly enjoyed it. I was very impressed with the Bluegrass Bariatric Group in Georgetown. My wonderful husband went with me and he was totally blown away with the seminar. He is so excited for me as I am for myself. I plan to go to the support meeting in Scott County on Saturday morning and I know I will be soaring for many days. At this time I still have no idea about the insurance but still have a feeling of 98% that I will be paying this out of my pocket and you know what it will be the best money I have ever spent. We have a meeting with my local banker on Tuesday afternoon so I am totally so excited...so please send me your strength and prayers.
Thanks everyone....

I went to their seminar Friday, Angela, and I agree: it was wonderful. I'm very impressed with everything I've learned about Georgetown.
I submitted my packet of information online in November and went for my first all-day appointment in January. That was when I learned exactly what my insurer, Humana, requires. Since then, I've been doing a 6-month doctor-supervised diet (as required by Humana) and having other required tests (echo and stress test) and submitting documentation from those studies and my sleep study. I'll finish my 6-month diet next month and hope to get insurance approval and have surgery late July or early August.
I would recommened Georgetown to anyone based on the information, personal attention, and the support I've received.

They ARE great! Both Dr.s go into surgery with you & there are no students working on you. The staff there will answer any ?'s you have & help you with insurance. They seem to know the "tricks" to get approved. Georgetown hospital is also great. The nurses seem to really care about you as a person, not a number. Your 1st night will be in ICU & I had to buzz them when I wanted to walk, which was often, & they always had a smile on their face & was supportive. Post-op is just as good. I can't say enough about the whole process except I wish I had it done years ago. Good luck with your banker.
Hi Angela
Let me tell you first hand how wonderful Georgetown Bariatrics are. I had my surgery on Oct 5 of 05 and Dr Oldham and his staff took excellent care of me , the hospital staff are excellent and they take wonderful care of you. I developed a leak 5 days after I had my surgery and was rushed back in for emergency surgery and spent 3 days on a ventilator and almost a month in ICU. im not telling you any of this to scare you , im telling you that if I hadnt have gone to Dr Oldham for my surgery and then had him take care of me when I had my complication that I may not be here now.
Dr Oldham was excellent to my family, he gave my husband his cell phone number so that if my husband had any questions or concerns he could contact him at any time. How many Drs would do that? I praise God for pulling me thru and I give my thanks and gratitude to the wonderful people that I had taking care of me,, They recently were named a Center Of Excellence, but they were that a long time ago. You cant go wrong with Georgetown Bariatrics. Good Luck on your journey! God Bless you!
