I'm thankful your surgery went well, Gale. I hope your pain is manageable as you move through these first couple of weeks. I'm hoping to have surgery in July and have been dealing with the same question you had about telling your mother about your surgery. I hate to keep my mother in the dark, but I also don't want her to worry--and I don't want to have to deal with any disapproval from her! So far, I've told only my husband and 3 friends from work who have already had WLS. My family has seen me gain and lose so many times over the years, so I wonder if I'm just trying to protect myself from their wondering how long it'll take me to re-gain this time. But it is a provate decision and no one needs to know unless we choose to tell them, right? Best wishes on your recovery. Kathy
