I have some ????
Okay, I know I said I was going to bed but just wanted to tell Toni what my tests were.
I had Nutritionist seminar and she told us how to eat before and a brief mention of after. No more than 30 carbs a day and no more than 5 carbs (in grams that is, not %) in any one item and that started THAT day.
Met exercise physiclogist who asked what exercise I was dong. I told her and she said continue what I was doing.
Had to answer around 550 true/false questions that was part of my phsyc eval. and also talk with the phsycologist. (please forgive my spelling tonight. I'm terribly sleepy but wanted to answer as to my experience). The phsyc eval took about 15 - 20 minutes, not counting the questions. Those were on paper.
Met with internists. He listened to my heart, lungs and corotid arteries (in my neck), and thumped my back a few times, pressed his thumb (or finger) into my shins and squeezed around my ankle area, this was to check for swelling I think. and hmmm, he MIGHT have listened to my tummy. He also asked a few questions about my health and family history. He might have taken BP, I don't remember.
Another time I met with my surgeon who listened to my heart and lungs, looked at my stomach and said I will be laprascopic. He asked questions about did I smoke, drink, etc. Asked about family history. He was so nice. He also looked in my mouth. I'm not sure why unless maybe was looking for signs of acid reflux or checking about the breathing tube or something. I'm just guessing on the reason for that. Oh, he listened to my tummy for sure. I remember that.
Had EKG and Endoscopy (I think that's called EDG) and labs. They checked all kinds of things in my blood. ALL KINDS OF THINGS! Five vials worth of checking. lol I also watched nutrition video because I am having surgery before another nutrition seminar (for after surgery I guess) is happening. I got weighed about three different visits, I think. I got measured on the waist and hips and boy are they HUGE!
That's all I can remember right now but as Brenda said, each surgery center is different and yours might require something I didn't do or might not do something I did. I hope this helps you a little.
Now I'm REALLY going to bed. Goodnight everyone.
Gale
